my cheap deals!
WANT TO KNOW HOW TO SAVE YOUR MONEY??!!
many people ask me what are my blog shopping tips (being very thrifty)
Here are some of my tips that i follow :
1. when you see something you really like, bookmark the website first. do your nesscessary research, check if it offers the cheapest online then decide if you want to buy it a not.
2. try not to look for famous blog shop cause they usually sell their stuff at a very high price and there are blog shops that offer cheaper price for the SAME PRODUCT!
3. in regard to sprees, look carefully! dont be deceive by their chio(pretty) pictures, i know how tempting they may look! i got trick a few times, and when i receive the product i was like....WTH?? totally dont look like the picture can?! this applies for all products bought in sprees (bags, clothes etc.)
4. i found out a dark secret that i didnt know until i step into bugis street, for people who often shop online knows that there is a craze going on for taiwan dress(white and blue) with the belt?and the blog shops sell them at an average of ($14-19). At bugis street, they are selling it at 10 DOLLARS!!! each! i was already thinking about buying one until i step into bugis street... my mouth dropped (literally) and i felt a little betrayed. then i found out that bugis street there are many blog shop stuff there are actually cheaper than those blog shop! not only that, the picture was a total fake, it doesnt look that nice at all when i saw it at the shops in bugis street!so...do your research on the net and BUGIS STREET!
5. never rush to buy something, cause you probably will regret buying it! there are shops in shopping centres that sell cheap stuff to (when they are on SALEE!!) You probably grab a great deal there. places such as cotton on and topshop! you can try places such as wisma atria!
for example, i was in two minds of getting a scarf but at bugis they were selling really pretty ones at $10-$19. but i felt it was a little expensive so i waited. then i went to SSC and cotton on was having a sale and they were selling their scarf (that were equally pretty) for $5!
being patient pays off yeah?!
6. most blog shops gives discount when you buy more - KEY: gather a couple of your besties and buy stuff together from the shop! you get to save some money and get pretty clothes too!
7. beaware of blog shops that CHEATS your money! though i haven met one yet, but my friend did! and it can be very disheartening.... SO, before you buy something from this person, double check if this person is reliant.
how to check : -ask how long do you have to wait to get the product
-check her tag boards to see if anyone has made a complaint on anything
(she probably is a cheat!)
- when the time is up to get your product but she has not call, take the iniative
and ask her, but remember, dont piss her off! be polite and pester her till she
gives you the stuff!
8. bookmark websites that offers cheap deals, once you find something cheaper than theirs you can delete that website! i have a list of cheap blog shops that i often buy things from! so you should have yours too (:
9. FOR DA BOYS~
i would suggest that you probably wouldnt want to buy stuff online cause they are much much more expensive, unlike the girl's apparels. you can shop at bugis street(highly recommended) or far east.
10. like what vic say-nothing is ever out of fashion! be confident in what you wear, browse through magazines (e.g seventeen) for fashion advice! sometimes, they provide information about where you can buy cheap pretty stuff but it happens only once in a while...
11. when you go to bugis street, haunt out shops that offer you styles that you like, sometimes they have great sales there and you can literally shop till you drop!
MOST IMPORTANTLY: never hesitate to ask for a discount! (especially if the shop keeper is a guy! -applies for girls only!). get use to asking for a discount!
my favourite tactic is to say im a student and i dont have much money with me.... they usually give a discount!
12. when shops dont allow you try on stuff, it usually implies that you will look ugly in it (dont buy it !) but you can always try your luck and ask if you can try it (some of the shop keepers there are really nice to let you secretly try it on (: )
13. when something new pops up, it will probably be very expensive and you would be either dumb or too rich to buy it immediately! for e.g when the fedora was in the market, it would be as expensive as $40? but now...you can get it for $7.90 in bugis street?!
SHOP SMART MY DEARS!
YEAP! that's probably what goes in my mind when i want to buy something
